Where we started
Magisterial began with a simple idea: what if a coaching staff could talk to an AI that already knew every player in college soccer? Ask a question, get an answer backed by real data — no digging through spreadsheets or stat sites.
Today Fred handles scouting queries, transfer portal matching, and report generation for programs across the country. Sam does the same for basketball. But player data is only one piece of the puzzle.
Complete video analysis
The next frontier for Magisterial is video. We're building the ability to ingest full match film and training footage, break it down frame by frame, and surface the moments that matter — all through the same conversational interface coaches already use.
Imagine asking "Show me every time #9 receives under pressure in the final third" and getting a clip reel with tactical annotations in seconds. Or asking for a breakdown of your opponent's pressing triggers before a match and receiving a visual report your staff can walk through together.
Video analysis today is time-intensive, manual work. Our goal is to make it as effortless as asking a question.
Custom agents for every role on staff
Every coaching staff has recurring tasks that eat up hours: weekly opponent reports, recruiting board updates, portal monitoring, practice session logs, and post-match statistical summaries. These are critical but repetitive — exactly the kind of work AI can take over.
We're building toward a system where you can spin up custom agents, each tailored to a specific workflow. A recruiting coordinator could have an agent that automatically refreshes their board every morning with new portal entries and updated stats. An assistant coach could have an agent that produces a tactical breakdown of the next opponent by Monday at 8 AM, every week.
These won't be generic bots. They'll be agents that understand your program's style of play, your roster, your conference, and your priorities — because they're built on top of the same deep data layer that powers Fred and Sam today.
The bigger picture
College athletics is resource-constrained. Small staffs manage large rosters, tight budgets, and impossible schedules. The programs that find an edge aren't always the ones with the biggest budget — they're the ones that use their time best.
Magisterial is being built to be the multiplier. A single assistant coach with the right AI tools should be able to do the analytical work that used to require a full department. Not by replacing people, but by freeing them to focus on what humans do best: building relationships, making judgment calls, and coaching.
We're just getting started. If you want to be part of what we're building, we'd love to have you on the platform.
